Who are we?

What Inspires Us

We are inspired to be a Colombian geoengineering firm built by hand, with a prestige gained in ethics, study, scientific preparation, observation, and knowledge of the territory and the physical conditions of Colombia, which has trained a large number of professionals, and which has always brought together highly valued engineers and students.

We are inspired to set an example of the transmission of knowledge and experiences through our contributions to university faculties, specialized congresses and symposia, our active involvement in professional associations, and by aiding in the improvement of the academy and civil engineering in Colombia.

Our History

The experience gained by IGL throughout its professional practice is considered to be an invaluable treasure. We are a company that undoubtedly constitutes a benchmark in the development of geotechnical engineering in Colombia. We are the fruit of the effort and dedication of a group of outstanding engineers who, in December 1975, decided to change the history of Colombian soil engineering and become an example of professionalism for Colombia.

Close to turning 45, IGL continues, led by engineer Manuel García López, an advocate for respect of the academy and research and of the professional excellence and principles of quality, which have made Ingeniería y Geotecnia S.A.S. what it is today. IGL as a firm has grown along with the development of Colombia, always backed by its talented team of engineers and specialists, who are characterized by their high level of academic preparation, observation and research capacity, and by their dedication to stay updated on the state-of-the-art of the geoengineering field.   It is because of those qualities that IGL has achieved, in the past 45 years, the completion of 2,562 projects for 936 Colombian and international clients.

IGL continues advancing, transforming, and working with dedication and professionalism to keep on building an inspiring Engineering every day.
